Mértola – Alcoutim Loop(75km)

This route starts in Mértola. A really traditional town on the edge of Guadiana river. This is awesome route that will take you to Spain on some nice quiet roads. Then when you get to Sançúcar de Guadiana you’ll have to catch a ferry to cross the river back to Portugal. Ferry costs 2 euros and leaves every half an hour. You’ll land in Alcoutim, where you can have a coffee and a cheese and ham toasty at “Beira-rio.”
