Castro Verde – Malhão Loop(140km)

This route starts in Castro Verde. A really traditional town in the midle of the Alentejo region. The route will take you to “Serra do Caldeirão” in the Algarve and you’ll face multiple hills. The main one will be “Malhão” that features 2,5 kilometers at 10% average gradient. It’s the most iconic climb in the region and it’s where the queen stage of the “Volta ao Algarve” finishes. At the top you have a really traditional coffee place where you can have a coffee and a toasty or a pastry. You’ll also pass twice at Almodôvar and if you need to get something there, go to “Esquina” for some really nice toasties and pastries.
